I specialize in teaching adults--from total beginners who have never touched a piano to adults who took lessons as a child and are returning to piano. I believe that everyone can learn and improve, no matter their background.
I grew up playing other instruments (organ and clarinet), but only started playing piano as an adult (starting in college). I know what it's like to be an adult student. I know what it's like to sometimes not be able to practice much (and feel guilty about it!), I know what it's like to feel nervous in front of a teacher, and I know what it's like to struggle with aspects of piano playing and wonder: Will I ever get better?
My role as a teacher is to provide the space for you to advance in your piano studies, to make mistakes (sorry, but there will be a lot of mistakes along the way!), and to help you figure out how to practice and how to overcome feeling stuck by problem solving.
